Logging

Logging is the process of recording information about events that happen in your application. It's a useful tool for debugging, monitoring, and troubleshooting issues in your code.

In a TypeScript API project, you might use logging to record information about HTTP requests and responses, database queries, errors, or other events that occur during the execution of your code.

Here are a few reasons why logging is important in a TypeScript API project:

  • Debugging: Logging can help you understand what's happening in your code and identify problems when things go wrong. To implement logging in a TypeScript API project, you can use a logging library like winston or pino. These libraries provide a set of APIs for logging messages at different levels (e.g., error, warn, info, debug), as well as formatting and outputting the log messages to various destinations (e.g., console, file, database).

Here's an example of how you might use the winston library to log messages in a TypeScript API:
